Most surprising when you first arrived at Groton: Before arriving at Groton as an incoming Fourth Former, I hadn't yet had a full tour of the campus due to COVID-19. That said, when I arrived in the fall for preseason, my teammates took me around the campus before and after our soccer practices. One after another, I saw different buildings and facilities, which surprised me with how nice and animated they were. First, when I saw the dining hall with orange chicken on the buffet line, a salad bar, and a panini press, I knew I would never get tired of the food. Afterward, I was introduced to the Schoolhouse that held many different places to study, different cool mementos scattered around, and people playing games with their new friends and those they hadn't seen in a while. That day, I was in awe of the facilities and buildings Groton provides to its students and the overall warmness of the campus.
Favorite class: My favorite class so far at Groton has been Spanish with Señor Conner. In both Spanish 1 and Spanish 3 I had a great time participating in the class with the different activities we would have, along with the projects we would do. Outside of the class, I've found that most of the Spanish students share a passion for speaking to each other in the language, bringing me closer to different people in the program.
Most memorable Groton moment: My most memorable moment at Groton was in the winter of my Fourth Form year when three of my friends and I went to play hockey at an open skate for a study break in the O'Brien hockey rink. It was great to get out there and play a sport I wasn't very used to. It inspired my friend and me to play hockey that winter.
Favorite Dining Hall food: My favorite dining hall food has to be the buffalo chicken pasta with caesar salad on the side. Nothing compares to the lemon bars for dessert!
